I’m not someone who loves to spend all day in the kitchen. When I started cooking with an Instant Pot, it changed meal planning for me. Read more about why I think every kitchen needs an Instant Pot and a super simple recipe you can try tonight!
So I LOVE to cook, (sometimes… lol)
I love the finished product and the feeling that comes from preparing healthy dishes for my family (and knowing what they are putting in their bodies!)
But there are times that I’m just not excited to hit the kitchen and do the meal prep and the cooking.
Ever been there?
Enter the “Instant Pot”
You might be wondering “Instant what?”…
Basically, an Instant Pot is a multi-use and programmable electric pressure cooker. When I first heard about this I was like “So what?”, but consider what this bad boy can do!
My Instant Pot has so far replaced my:
- Rice Cooker
- Slow Cooker/Crock Pot
- Saute’ Pan
- Steamer
- Warmer
and probably some other stuff I’m forgetting!
That sounds a bit more impressive to me, haha!
Brown Rice in 20 minutes?? Yes, Please!

One 16 oz can of Spaghetti Sauce
Watch for directions:
Most busy moms know the benefits of having a slow cooker… you throw a bunch of ingredients in, set it to low, dinner is ready by the end of the day… wouldn’t it be nice if you could speed up the process a bit?? Especially if you aren’t that organized lol.
This is where Instant Pot comes in! It has the same benefits of a slow cooker, but FAST (a pressure cooker speeds up the cooking time by up to 70 percent.)
Pressure cookers were a little scary to use back in the day, but now with newer models – they are so easy to use!
